Students had the day off on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, in honor of Presidents Day, a national holiday that’s been celebrated since the late 1800s.

CSU Residence Life hosts Build-A-Bear event

On Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, CSU’s Department of Residence Life hosted a Build-A-Bear night at The Edge clubhouse. The event ran from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. (credit: Kasey Sheridan)

Residents of The Edge and The Langston were invited to attend, and they could bring one student guest per person to the Build-A-Bear event. (credit: Kasey Sheridan)

Students got to choose a bear, and Build-A-Bear staff helped them fill them with stuffing, “charge their hearts up with love,” and sew the bears up. Students could either take their new fluffy friends home or donate them to the Children's Center of Medina County. (credit: Kasey Sheridan)

There was an array of cuddly bears and hearts to choose from. Students could also take home “birth certificates” and were invited to name their bears. (credit: Kasey Sheridan)

Students living at The Edge or The Langston had the chance to take part in the free event, with the opportunity to donate nonperishable goods to Lift Up Vikes food pantry and, if they chose to do so, donate their plush bears to the Children's Center of Medina County.
