As the Vikings go into the Spring 2025 women’s golf season, team members shared their thoughts on Cleveland State's decision to terminate its wrestling, women’s golf and softball programs.

Cleveland State fell in both the men's and women's semifinal matches, with the men losing to Youngstown State and the women to Purdue Fort Wayne. The end was an anticlimax for Vikings basketball after both teams had stellar seasons.

The Vikings secured Freshman and Sixth Man of the Year awards, with five players named to all-league teams. Next up, CSU faces Youngstown in the Horizon League semifinals on Monday.

Cleveland State hosted “Wrestling Night” to celebrate the program’s history prior to the team's last home match, against Kent State. CSU announced in January it was discontinuing the program, a decision Sen. Bernie Moreno called "disquieting."

The meet produced four individual champions for Cleveland State. Paddy Johnston and Jackson Nester placed first in the men's competition. For the women, Grace Chelf and Giovanna Cappabianca triumphed.

Cleveland State women’s basketball moved to 21-6 overall, 12-4 in Horizon League play with a 61-52 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne, away on Saturday.
