CSU volleyball closes out homestand with loss to IUPUI
The Cleveland State University volleyball team concluded a five-match homestand with a pair of 3-0 losses to Indiana University Indianapolis from Oct. 31 through Nov.1 at Woodling Gymnasium.
Friday
Cleveland State fell to IU Indy 0-3 in its evening matchup on Friday.
The highlight for the Vikings was senior Laken Voss, who reached a significant career milestone. Her 12 digs in the match pushed her past 1,000 for her career, and she finished the night with 1,010 total.
Reilly Wadden and Allison Salazar bolstered the defense with seven digs each. Offensively, Bryn VanVleet led the team with 10 kills, while Voss and JeriLynn Koehler each added six.
Saturday
Cleveland State could not reverse its fortunes on Saturday afternoon, suffering another 3-0 loss to close the homestand.
VanVleet once again led the Vikings attack with eight kills, followed by Voss with seven.
Salazar directed the offense with 21 assists, along with six digs and one service ace.
On defense, Vayda Delventhal posted a team-high 14 digs. Madisyn Green and Danica McArthur contributed nine and seven digs respectively.
Cleveland State hits the road for its final regular-season matches, a two-game series at rival Youngstown State on Thursday, Nov. 6 and Friday, Nov. 7.
