Six runners finish with a season best at the Joe Piane Invite

The Vikings had a good outing at the event in South Bend, Indiana, with six athletes running season best times.

The Cleveland State women's cross-country team had six runners who finished with a season best at the 5k Joe Piane Invite at Notre Dame on Friday. 24 colleges competed in the event in South Bend, Indiana.

Alyshia Alkerton from Windsor won the race with a time of 17:04.9, followed by Samara Quanz from Windsor with a time of 17:12.3.

For the Vikings, Annabelle Crissman was the top finisher, coming in 61st in a time of 18:25.2. Natalie Keller finished with a time of 19:26.1 (159th), Sage Colón inished with a time of 19:32.15 (167th), and Kayla Crissman ran a time of 19:43.97 (180th).

The six CSU athletes who finished with a season best were Annabelle Crissman, Keller, Colón, Kayla Crissman, Bailey Bechtel, (21:26.99), and Aubrey Evans (21:47:66). Freshman Reese Nolan finished in 22:01.76.
