Cleveland State cross country opens 2026 Season
The Cleveland State Cross Country team started the 2026 season Friday evening, racing at the Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic hosted by Wright State. The 5k race had a total of 123 athletes competing. The Vikings finished sixth.
Grace Biddle from Northern Kentucky won the meet with a time of 17:57.4, and Layla Sahaydak from Ohio State was the runner-up with a time of 17:57.7.
For the Vikings, Annabelle Crissman placed 11th in the meet with a time of 18:42.6, which was the best time for the team.
CSU's Natalie Keller finished with a time of 19:33.7(35th), with Kayla Crissman finishing 19:58.8 (44th). Sage Colon finished 51st with a time of 20:07.3.
Freshman Bailey Bechtel finished 94th with a time of 21:47.6, and Reese Nolan finished 97th with a time of 21:58.1.
Aubrey Evans finished with a time of 22:13.1 to end the meet for the Vikings.
Up next, the Green & White go to Cedarville, Ohio, to compete in the All-Ohio Classic on Friday, Sept. 18, at 6:00 p.m.
