Cleveland State men’s basketball earned its fifth straight win as it defeated Northern Kentucky 72-58 in the Vikings' Horizon League opener at the Wolstein Center on Thursday. CSU dominated inside the paint with a 48-18 advantage and were led by 20 points from senior Torrey Patton.

Cleveland Stater sports editor Robert Fenbers and his team -- Lucia Rosace, Abraham Farraj, David Bates, Jaden Stambolia and Matt Thomas -- sat down to discuss whether CSU should have a football team. Cleveland State University’s women’s basketball team has jumped out to an undefeated start this season behind strong all-around performances.

Destiny Leo continues her hot start to the season while leading the 5-0 Vikings with 22 points.

Cleveland State men’s basketball continued their momentum as they pushed the pace at home with a win over Canisius in the Cerebro Sports Lake Erie Challenge, 80-70, Saturday afternoon at the Wolstein Center. D’Moi Hodge led the Vikings with 27 points, as well as four steals and two rebounds.

Cleveland State men’s basketball weathered a rugged encounter with Division II Edinboro University, prevailing 75-61 to claim their first victory of the season.

CSU men’s basketball made a united effort, but lost in their home-opener against Ohio University, 67-56, Saturday evening at the Wolstein Center. Broc Finstuen led the Vikings with 14 points off the bench, as well as five rebounds and two steals.

After a long, hard-fought season, the Vikings lost their final match to the Raiders at home, but did not let it go easy. CSU took the first set, left some slack in the second and kept WSU on edge for the final two.

The Vikings came up short against Oakland's Golden Grizzlies in Saturday's conference championship game, falling 3-1 to end the season as runners-up in the Horizon League.
