CSU men’s golf concludes season with an 8th place finish at Dayton Flyer Invitational
The Cleveland State men's golf team secured an eighth-place finish at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, Oct. 21-22. The two-day invitational, held at NCR Country Club's South Course, marked the end of the fall season for the men’s golf team.
The Vikings concluded their season at the 54-hole event at 33-over par, with a final-round score of 16-over par 300. The team fell short to Kent State, who claimed the team title with a 15-over par total.
CSU grad student Andrew Kaye led the Vikings, tying for eighth place individually with a 3-over par finish. Kaye shot a 4-over 75 in the final round and excelled on the par-4s, finishing at 1-over par combined. This was the second-best score in the field.
Brody Simms and Dillon Pendergast both tied for 33rd place, finishing at 11-over par. Simms posted a 77 in the final round, while Pendergast carded his best score of the week with a 73.
Mason Frazier closely followed at 13-over par, including a 75 in the final round.
Dominik Cosic tied for 67th place at 23-over par, while Ben Scheeff, playing as an individual, finished in 79th place with a 40-over par total.
With the conclusion of the fall season, the Vikings will take a break before returning to the competition in the spring. The Spring 2025 schedule has yet to be announced.
