Trailing at halftime, 1-0, Cleveland State men’s soccer advanced to the Horizon League championship for the first time since 2012 after defeating Milwaukee, 2-1, on Thursday. Albert Portas and Andrew Nicholas came through with the goals for the Green and White.

Cleveland State men’s basketball came up short on opening night as it fell to BYU, 69-59, in a non-conference road matchup on Tuesday evening in Provo, Utah. Broc Finstuen provided the Vikings with a spark off the bench in his CSU debut, tallying 11 points, four steals and three rebounds.

Cleveland State women’s basketball put in a strong performance on opening night, routing East Tennessee State, 81-54, at the Wolstein Center on Tuesday evening. The Vikings were led by a game-high 24 points from sophomore Destiny Leo.

In their first game of the season, Cleveland State women’s basketball dominated Ursuline College 73-47 in an exhibition to get their first win.

Barbara Zieniewska took a different route than most to make it to Division I basketball. From winning a bronze medal with Poland, to playing in community colleges in New Mexico and Texas, she finally came to Cleveland State.

21-year-old Bojan Kolevski has travelled over 4,000 miles to pursue his passion of soccer at Cleveland State University. The sophomore has led the Vikings with 12 goals and four assists as they look to make a run in the postseason.

The Raiders stunned the Vikings, scoring four goals in the second half to secure victory in Cleveland State's final regular season game of 2021. A win would have given the regular season title to CSU. Now the Vikings need Oakland to tie or lose on Nov. 3 to take the title.
