Pendergast tallies top-20 finish at Austin Peay Intercollegiate
The Cleveland State golf team finished ninth in a 16-team field over two days of play at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate, March 23-24.
Jacksonville State University's Will Drake and University of Tennessee at Martin's Grant Phillips shared individual medalist honors at the tournament, finishing top of the leaderboard at 8-under par 208. Jacksonville State won the team title at 15-under par. The event was held at Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tennessee.
In the individual competition, the Vikings Dillon Pendergast (73-72-71) finished T-17 following his 1-under par final round of 71. Pendergast posted three birdies, including two over his final six holes on day three. It was his third top-20 finish of the season.
Brody Simms followed Pendergast in the standings with a T-29 finish, following rounds of 76-71-74. Domink Cosic moved up seven spots to finish T-41 after posting an even-par round of 72, including four birdies, in his final round.
Also competing for the Vikings were Trace Gibson (T-65) and Ryan Dinan (87).
Cleveland State will be back in action during the first full week of April, at the NKU Jewell Invitational April 6-7.
