CSU men’s tennis secures runner-up at the HL Individual Championship

Cleveland State's Lincoln Battle and Carl Gedlitschka finished the weekend-long Horizon League championship as the Doubles Runner-Up on Sunday, Oct. 5, leaving with a 2-1 doubles record.

The Cleveland State University men’s tennis team closed out the Horizon League Individual Championship with Lincoln Battle and Carl Gedlitschka finishing as the doubles runner-up, losing 8-6 to Belmont University's Sabi Roi and Stefan Vedovelli 8-6 in the final on Sunday in Nashville, Tennessee.

The win meant the Viking pair closed out the weekend with a 2-1 record after the team's 8-6 win over Tennessee State in the semifinals earlier Sunday, and an 8-7(2) victory over Southern Indiana in the quarterfinals on Friday.

In singles, Gedlitschka and CSU's Nico Jamison each earned a consolation win on Saturday, while Battle dropped a three-set match to Belmont's Austin Yack.
