Vikings defeat Robert Morris, Fisher wins deans' challenge
Cleveland State Men's Basketball team defeated Robert Morris 57-55, Friday at the Wolstein Center. But it was the "Challenge of the Deans" that stole the night.
Teams made up of a Cleveland State University dean and an accompanying student – members of the basketball team were ineligible – competed in a free throw contest during intermission. CSU's seven colleges took part. Each team had four heats of 30 seconds to make as many free throws as possible.
Dean Stephanie Brooks, Ph.D. of the College of Health and defending champion Dr. Dean Fisher of the College of Law went head-to-head in the final heat. Fisher prevailed, winning a pizza party with CSU basketball and a year's supply of Rascal House Pizza presented by Provost Nigamanth Sridhar, Ph.D.

Fisher thanked his team member and student, Robert Harwood, for their two-year winning streak.
“The reason we won is Bob Harwood,” Fisher said. “Both years, Bob made more baskets than any other participant. Unfortunately for me, Bob is graduating this year!”

The other winners on the night were The Vikings who defeated RMU in a thriller when Deante "Spider" Johnson broke a 55-all tie to put CSU ahead with 2.8 seconds on the clock.
The Vikings' next game is against the Wright State Raiders at 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at the Wolstein Center, 2000 Prospect Ave. E, Cleveland. Find tickets here.
Whether Dean Fisher will return in 2024 without the support of Harwood remains to be seen.
