CSU Women’s Soccer falls to Green Bay 4-1 on senior day
CSU’s Women’s Soccer lost 4-1 to the Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday in their senior day matchup.
Six seniors were recognized before the game: Brooke Brockman, Bella Delfino, Erica Leinweber, Makayla Parry, Madi Snyder and Brooke Ulery.
Green Bay’s Senah Hanes scored the first half’s only goal in the 11th minute. The Phoenix held a 5-3 advantage in shots during the half.
The Vikings tied the score 1-1 with a goal headed in by Mayra Sesmas off a cross from Emma Pompo in the 49th minute.
Green Bay then took the lead in the 62nd minute as Grace Downey scored off a corner from Hanna Arvay.
The Phoenix lengthened their lead to 3-1 in the 81st minute as Hanes headed in a cross.
Green Bay’s final goal was made in the 87th minute as Hanes completed her hat trick.
For The Vikings, Leinweber and Sesmas had two shots each in the game, with Elyse Broderick making one save.
CSU will host two games this week. The Vikings will face Robert Morris at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10. They will then play Detroit Mercy on Sunday, Oct. 13 in their alumnae day match.
