CSU women’s basketball falls in Horizon League Championship game

Cleveland State women’s basketball struggled to find momentum against second-seeded Green Bay, losing in demoralizing fashion in the tournament title game.

Cleveland State women’s basketball lost to Green Bay, 64-40, in the Horizon League Championship game on March 12 at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

The Vikings struggled to make baskets, shooting 32 percent in the loss. Colbi Maples (11) scored 22 of CSU’s 40 points, her eleventh 20-point game of the year. 

After the loss, the Vikings are 11-5 overall under head coach Chris Kielsmeier in Horizon League Tournament games. CSU finished the season with a 29-5 record, the second highest single-season win total in program history. 

Next up, Cleveland State will face off against the Toledo Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on March 21st.
