Cleveland State cross country places third at Lansing Invitational
The Cleveland State cross country team returned to action Friday afternoon, competing in the Lansing Invitational in Lansing, Michigan. As a team, the Vikings finished third, while three individuals finished in the top 20.
"We performed very well today, especially considering we were missing some key members of our team," head coach Jason Hudson said. "This is a great sign that others were able to step up when we needed them and perform well on the course. As our top finisher, Hannah ran a great race today, and was engaged throughout the entire race and put herself in a great position early on to finish in the top five."
Junior Hannah Korte was the Green and White's top finisher, as she posted a fourth place overall finish with a 5K time of 19:27. Freshman Ariana Coats also posted a top-15 finish for the Vikings, as she placed 12th overall after crossing the finish line in a time of 20:02.
Margaret Smith posted a 5K time of 20:25 to finish 20th, while Kiannah Sarver placed 24th, crossing the finish line in 20:31.
