Cleveland State’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) featured local black businesses in its Black Business Bazaar, held on Feb. 21. The bazaar was one of many events held at CSU in February to celebrate Black History Month.

Black History Month, a birthday for campus pups Rune and Thor, thousands of books destroyed in library flooding, a protest against Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank and an interview with CSU's head of marketing about Cleveland State's new look.

"Giving Day is a day where you can raise a lot of money in a short amount of time,” event organizer John Templeman said. "It's great because areas that normally don’t get the ability to fundraise get a chance to shine.”

CSU's Muslim Student Association held its most recent “Deen N Dine” in the Student Center Ballroom, Feb. 14. These events are held monthly for students to learn about Islam, gather with friends and share a meal. All students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

“That does not mean everything on the master plan is a go. It means that in concept they approve of the direction of this ten year plan,” said CSU President Laura Bloomberg, adding that the $650 million price tag could go "up or down.”

Students had the day off on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, in honor of Presidents Day, a national holiday that’s been celebrated since the late 1800s.

Graduate student Alyssa Kurkul is hosting a series of wellness workshops in CSU’s Theatre and Dance building. With five workshops in the series, students of any major can attend the remaining two.
