As mental health needs grow on campus, CSU officials outline how students are prioritized and connected to care.

Cleveland State alumna Selina Pagan has transformed the volunteer-led Young Latino Network into a growing nonprofit while advancing civic engagement, cultural education and leadership opportunities for Latine residents.

“This concert has become a way for all of us to come together for one night and carry on the music in their honor,” said Anna Skalicki, a senior CSU studio art major.

Late March brings opportunities for students to connect with alumni, celebrate culture and engage in campus events.

The ninth week of the spring semester offers students a chance to pick up a new book, support a philanthropic cause and dance mid-semester stress away with line dance therapy.

Ph.D. candidate Anita Dhara studies how molecules in red blood cells could help patients with sickle cell anemia and beta thalassemia breathe easier and reduce painful symptoms.

“It's important in Cleveland because a lot of people that might not have opportunities elsewhere get them here,” said John Templeman, Director of Annual Giving at CSU. “I think (Giving Day) makes a real difference in a lot of people's lives.”
