A letter from the Chief Editor

To the Reader,

Thank you for reading The Cleveland Stater, a laboratory news site at Cleveland State University written, produced, edited and published by students.

For over 20 years The Stater has dedicated itself to reporting on the happenings at Cleveland State University. Though our publication has a long history, it would seem we are all living in a completely different world than the one in which it was founded. The Cleveland Stater is now a completely digital media platform, here and on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

This year has been incredibly challenging for our team as we’ve moved online. We can imagine it has been for you too. A global pandemic and a polarizing political climate are anxiety inducing enough on their own without the daily struggles that come along with work, classes, family and friends.

With that being said, we wanted to reach out and make sure you know that no matter who or what you chose to vote for next Tuesday, we will continue to bring you timely news about your campus.

Your vote matters and has lasting effects on our community. 

On behalf of the entire team at The Stater we would like to thank you again for reading and we look forward to serving you in the future. Stay safe. Stay healthy. GO VIKES!

    Summer is fast approaching, and this year Ohioans should be able to legally smoke recreational marijuana while enjoying the sunshine. That it's not possible yet to legally buy weed won't stop people from rolling a joint to celebrate 4/20.

  • Over 100 vendors attend CSU career fair

    The Career fair has become one of the biggest events each year at CSU. Career Development and Exploration hosts the fair, which this year brought together potential employers with students on March 7, 2024. One hundred and twenty-five employers, 275 recruiters from industries across the region, and 16 school districts were represented. A third of the employers said they were open to hiring international students.

    Incoming Cleveland State freshmen are required to take an introduction to university life course in their first year at Cleveland State. In this course, students are taught how to reach out to their professors and are encouraged to interact among their peers. But, is it enough?

    55 high school teams competed for top robot at the 25th annual FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Buckeye Regional competition at the Wolstein Center from March 20-23.

    Many Clevelanders had their cameras at the ready this past Monday when the solar eclipse made its way through their backyards, doing their best to capture the beauty of an experience that may only happen once in your lifetime. The Cleveland Stater also captured some worthwhile shots earlier this week from different spots around Cleveland.
