From learning a dead language to enjoying an anime convention, here are a few of the exciting events going on at Cleveland State this week.
  • 10/2 - Introduction to the Coptic language

    Do you have a passion for or are just fascinated with learning new languages and the history behind them? Then Monday’s introduction to the Coptic language is just for you! The event, which is hosted by the Coptic Club, will focus on learning the three different dialects of Coptic and a brief history lesson on how the language originated. Throughout this lesson, they will explain why it can be considered a dead language and what lead to this. This event will take place in Berkman Hall, room 325, at 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. 
     
  • 10/3 - Cookies with Friends

    Interested in meeting new people or hanging with friends? Then join the Center for Campus Engagement for the 2023 Spirit Week event, "Cookies with Friends!" Bring a buddy or come alone to meet new people while enjoying some cookies. The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will take place in Berkman Hall, room 104.
     
  • 10/4 - Throwback TV Night

    Do you just want to relax and watch good old TV? Then this spirit week, join the Campus Activities Board (CAB) for TV night to watch cartoons from the early 2000s with snacks provided by the CAB team. The event will begin in BH 325 and will go from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
        
  •  10/8 - FEMCON Anime Convention + Girls Gamer Night

    Women gamers and feminist anime culture? The Society of Intersectional Feminists has the perfect event for you. They're hosting an anime convention with workshops, panels, a drag show, giveaways, gaming tournaments, and food. EVERYONE 18 years and older is welcome. Admission is $2. But, those who attend wearing cosplay or anime merchandise will be allowed to enter for free. The convention will take place in the Student Center Ballroom and will run from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Stay around after the convention, because that's when Girls Gamer Night begins. The event is designed to encourage women in gaming, but everyone is welcome to come. It runs from 9 p.m. till midnight.
