The Cleveland State University Chorale and Chorus brought a rich tapestry of sound to Drinko Recital Hall on Oct. 9 for their fall recital.
Under the direction of Brian Bailey, students performed a diverse repertoire, showcasing classical and contemporary pieces that highlighted the range and skill of the singers.
Jacob Bernhardt, accompanying on piano, provided a seamless backdrop for the vocalists, adding depth and nuance to the performance.
The evening featured standout moments where individual sections from the choir got to shine, from the soaring sopranos to the resonant basses, it created a balanced and emotive musical experience.
Audience members responded enthusiastically, particularly after pieces that displayed precise harmonies and technical skill.
Bailey praised his students for their dedication, noting the months of rehearsal that went into preparing the program.
The performance was not only a display of musical talent, but also a testament to the collaborative spirit at CSU’s School of Music, leaving the audience with a lasting impression of the vibrancy of Cleveland’s university music scene.
