Cleveland State men's soccer defeated Chicago State 3-1 on Friday at Krenzler Field. It was the second straight victory at home for the Vikings, who moved to 2-1 for the season with the win.

In the first half, CSU's Bojan Kolevski (9) scored twice with assists from Quinn Goves (30) and Marko Rimac (7), taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Play was paused during the second half because of an injury to a Cougar player which required attendance from an ambulance.

When the game resumed, despite strong offensive play from Chicago State, CSU held off the visitors until the 83rd minute, when the Cougars' Daniel Sergiev (33) scored to make it 2-1.

The Vikings pushed back, adding another goal just three minutes later, when Matteo Correia (16) scored off a rebound from Josip Rimac (11).

The stars of the game were CSU’s goalkeepers Ryan Poling (1) and Lasse Schwieren (0) who held off Chicago's offense, which had a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.

Following a 3-3 draw with Akron on Monday, the Vikings are now 2-2 for the season. Next up they face Mercyhurt at Krenzler Field on Thursday at 7 p.m.
