CSU women’s tennis picks up 8 wins at HL Individual Championship

Cleveland State capped off its season opening tournament on Saturday, recording six singles wins and two doubles victories across two days of the Horizon League Individual Championship.

Cleveland State’s women’s tennis team closed out the Horizon League Individual Championship on Saturday, picking up six singles wins and two doubles victories.

All six singles wins came in backdraw matches. Jenna Redmile, Laura Tapia, Marta Rodriguez, and Anna Mancino won in straight sets, helping the Vikings finish the day on a high note.

In doubles, Ella Franz and Sofia Sergieva teamed up for a win, while Redmile and Rodriguez also earned a doubles victory in their backdraw matches.

Youngstown State University hosted the tournament which ran Friday through Sunday.

The Vikings will take a week off before returning to competition as hosts of the Viking Invitational at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion, October 10-12.
