CSU volleyball defeats Morgan State to open 2026
Cleveland State volleyball team opened the 2026 season Friday, splitting its matches against Morgan State and Lehigh.
In the first match of the day, the Vikings picked up a 3-0 sweep over Morgan State, paced by 12 kills each from Bryn VanVleet and Addison Koppelman.
Jazen DeBina added eight kills and JeriLynn Koehler and Julia Jozefov notched four. Fiona Cooper captained the offense with 29 assists on the day, while the Vikings hit .293 on the match.
Defensively, Vayda Delventhal posted 10 digs, while Koehler combined for two blocks.
The Vikings' second match of the day was against hosts Lehigh, with CSU falling to the Mountain Hawks, 3-0.
Against Lehigh, VanVleet led the Vikings' offense with 12 kills, while Koppelman added nine.
Allison Salazar finished with 32 assists on the night, while Delventhal tallied 11 digs for her second straight double-digit dig match.
CSU then closed out the first weekend of the 2026 campaign on Saturday, picking up a 3-0 victory over Gardner-Webb. With the win, the Vikings are now 2-1 for the season.
Up next: The Vikings stay on the road, taking part in the Mercyhurst Invitational on Friday, Sept. 4 and Saturday, Sept. 5.
