CSU volleyball beats Green Bay 3-2

The Vikings kept up their momentum with a hard fought win against the Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday.

Cleveland State women's volleyball prevailed at home on Saturday in a hard fought five-set victory over the Green Bay Phoenix.

With the win, the Vikings moved to 13-5 for the season and 4-3 in Horizon League play.

Ella Mihacevich led the Vikings with her second triple-double of the season, finishing with 51 assists, 21 digs and 10 kills. Emma Walker secured a double-double for the first time this season, finishing with 32 digs and 11 assists against Green Bay.

The Vikings kept up their momentum throughout the game as Liberty Torres supported the Viking offense with 23 kills. On defense, Reilly Wadden finished with 16 digs.

The two teams split the first four sets of the match, with Cleveland State winning the first and third while the Phoenix picked up wins in the second and fourth sets. After forcing the fifth set, the Vikings closed out the match 15-10. The line score (CSU first) was 27-25, 26-28, 25-23, 25-27, 15-10.

The win was Cleveland State's third five-set match this season, with the Vikings taking all three for a perfect 3-0 record in five set contests.

The Vikings will be back in Woodling Gymnasium next weekend, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne in a two-match series Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
