Cleveland State’s Viking Food Co. served Thanksgiving dinner early, on Nov. 9, in the Viking Marketplace to students and members of the public looking to celebrate the much-loved feast on campus.

A warm welcome and serving stations laden with food greeted attendees. Students had to use one swipe upon entry, while non-CSU students were asked to pay a small fee for the event which ran from 4-8 p.m.

Already by 4 p.m. a long line snaked outside with guests eager to grab a plate and enjoy the hearty meal. Viking Food Co. served turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, salads and an assortment of pies and desserts. Refreshments were hot chocolate and a cider bar.

The Thanksgiving holiday is still more than a week away, but campus is well into the mood, including giving students, faculty and staff the chance to give back to the community. Theta Phi Alpha is hosting a Thanksgiving food drive in the CSU innerlink on Nov. 14. The food drive is supporting Lift Up Vikes.
