Cleveland State University’s Information and Services Department, or IS&T, offers various services that students may not be fully aware of.

Perhaps it is best known for loaning laptops, scientific calculators and iPads, which can be rented for up to two days on a first-come, first-served basis.

But another service offered by IS&T is the ability to print directly from a  smart phone or tablet to special printers in the IS&T Student Labs.  All a student needs to do is download the free Xerox Mobile Print App, and you can start using your phone to print immediately.

IS&T also offers several services for student owned PCs, MacBooks, and laptop computers, including system and disk cleanup, anti-spyware, anti-virus software, software install and advice for self-help virus removal. All students need to show is their Cleveland State issued ID.

Cleveland State sophomore Aurora Harris, 19, a double major in promotional communication studies and journalism, said she is excited about what IS&T has to offer because she had problems with her laptop last semester.

“I had no idea the IS&T department offered so many different useful services for all us students. We really are living the dream here at CSU. I wish I had known about this last semester when my laptop was on the fritz,” Harris said. “It probably would have saved me some time and money getting it checked out here instead!”

Because of some warranty and liability restrictions, IS&T cannot do physical repairs or hardware installs but can still offer advice.

IS&T also offers password resets, Microsoft Office 365 installs and wireless set up.
For more information on the services IS&T offers students, check out the Cleveland State website or stop by Rhodes Tower 1106, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
